My Travel Story
Travel has been one of the greatest joys of my life. After a rewarding professional career, I now have the freedom to spend more time doing what I love most: exploring the world, connecting with people, and discovering the unique stories that make every destination special.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to visit more than 70 countries, and each journey has left its mark on me. Whether it’s sailing through Europe on a river cruise, watching wildlife on safari in Africa, or stumbling upon a hidden gem in a charming village, I am always drawn to experiences that feel authentic and meaningful.
At home on Canada’s West Coast, I enjoy volunteering, entertaining friends, and spending time with my two beloved dogs, Elton and Gracie. I love bringing people together, whether it’s around a dinner table or while exploring a new destination. Some of my favourite travel memories have come from the friendships formed along the way.
For me, travel is about far more than checking destinations off a list. It’s about the people you meet, the stories you collect, and the perspective you gain from seeing the world through different eyes. Travel keeps me curious, inspired, and always excited for whatever adventure comes next.

Window or Aisle?
Window. I like to keep an eye on where we’re going and make sure the pilot doesn’t miss a turn.
Coffee, Tea or Wine?
Coffee gets me moving, but white wine gets me talking.
Dream Destination?
Africa. The wildlife, the scenery, and the chance to take 5000 photos of animals.
Favorite Airport?
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. It’s organized, easy to navigate, and has enough shopping to make me forget I’m paying airport prices.
Most Memorable Travel Moment?
Watching lions cross right in front of our safari vehicle in Africa. For a few minutes, nobody checked their phone, or asked where the nearest washroom was. I travel for the memories, the friendships, and the stories. The souvenirs are nice too, but the best treasures are the people you meet and the adventures you laugh about years later. (And maybe a refrigerator magnet or two.) 😄✈️🌍.

Checked bag. I always start with the best intentions of packing light and then remember I might need three pairs of shoes, a raincoat, a sweater, and a “just in case” outfit for every possible weather event.
