Weather & Climate

Weather conditions for New York City in December. 

  • The weather will be cooler. As the month progresses, the afternoon temperatures fall into the upper 30°F (3 to 4°C) while early morning lows dip into the upper 20°F (-2 to -3°C). On a few of the colder nights and mornings, the temperature will dip down into the mid-teens °F (-9 to -10°C).

Lightweight, breathable clothing that can be layered will be appreciated for daily temperature ranges.

*Semi-Formal Attire: This is your excuse to dress up! We require semi-formal attire (dress pants, dress skirts or dresses and dress shoes). Casual jeans, t-shirts, and sandals are not permitted onboard.

Health & Wellness

Please visit a travel clinic prior to departure.

If you are travelling through immigration and customs, all prescription medications should be in their original containers with doctor’s prescription printed on the container. It is advised to travel with no more that personal quantities, rule of thumb is no more than a 90-day supply.

Entry Requirements

Visa
Citizens of Canada and Bermuda do not require visas to enter the United States for visit, tourism and temporary business travel purposes. Citizens of the Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the Kingdom of Brunei can visit the United States for up to 90 days without applying for a visa (as well as citizens of Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco and San Marino). Citizens of these countries must obtain an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before traveling. All other travellers must obtain a visa before visiting the United States.

Passport
All travellers entering the United States need a passport upon arrival (regardless of their country of citizenship). International travelers need a passport that is valid for at least 3 months after the end of their intended trip in order to enter the country.

Electricity & Devices

Type A Plug

In the United States there are two associated plug types, types A and B. Type A plugs have two flat parallel pins and type B plugs have two flat parallel pins and a grounding pin. United States operates on a 120V supply voltage and 60Hz.
